Sawkut Rojid is an economist and has been involved in a number of national and international projects. His field of specialisation is, but not limited to, international trade and related issues. He has worked in a number of projects in diverse areas. A few of the consultancy projects in which he has been (or still is) heavily involved are as follows:
- Researcher in the Australian government’s funded yearly project – “AusAid/TIPS SADC Trade Review project”;
- Commonwealth Secretariat project in “Developing a Road Map for Exports of Professional services for Mauritius”;
- “Survey of regional commodity associations in the SADC region” for the Southern African Confederation on Agricultural Unions (SACAU);
- “Learning to Innovate: Institutions Supporting Sectoral Innovation Systems in Asia and Africa” – United Nations University-INTECH
- “Women Entrepreneurial Characteristics in Mauritius” – Organization for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (OSSREA)
Sawkut is also a regional trainer accredited by IDS, University of Sussex for a training programme on analysing trade data in the EPA context.
